Sons 2 The Grave

The Canadian production company, Have Faith Productions (HFP) has rolled out its new film “Sons 2 The Grave”, a film inspired by true events.

“Sons 2 The Grave“ follows basketball phenom, Marcus Jennings after his mother, Ruth, reluctantly agrees to move to an at-risk community called Hudson in Atlanta, GA to advance his basketball career. As his mother, she thinks she can protect him but the temptations of his new surroundings prove to be too much for Marcus. One fateful night he is murdered on a street bridge that links two communities but instead of bringing them together it instead divides them. Although the murderer is known to the streets, Marcus’ friends remain silent thus giving power to a killer while binding them all together forever. The movie explores the conflict that arises when at-risk communities are faced with the decision of having to do the right thing or simply keeping the status quo.

Have Faith Productions brought together a who’s who in terms of actors and actresses for the project. The movie roster consisted of Atlantic recording artist, Trevor Jackson ( Blackish, Grownish, Superfly) Justin Martin ( Flight, The Soloist, A Raisin In The Sun, Blue Bloods) NAACP nominated, Algee Smith ( Detroit, The Hate You Give, Euphoria, The Bobby Brown Story) Atkins Estimond ( STARZ Hightown, Superfly, Inside Man) NAACP nominated, Darren Dewitt Henson ( Stomp The Yard, The Family Business, Chocolate City) Brad James (The Choice, A House Divided, Love Always) Jahnee Wallace (Saints & Sinners) Ajona Alexus ( Breaking In, Empire, Greys Anatomy) Demetria McKinney ( A House Divided, Bobby Kristina, House Of Payne) and veteran actors Maria Howell ( The Color Purple, The Resident, Hidden Figures, Saints, and Sinners) and Emmy award winner Greg Allan Williams ( Council of Dads, The Righteous Gemstones, Greenleaf, Chicago Med).

“Sons 2 The Grave” was written and produced by Canadian author, screenwriter & producer Lynne Stoltz. Stoltz, along with her daughter, popular Toronto publicist Sasha Stoltz, founded Have Faith Productions after the passing of husband/father Tony Stoltz. “Sons 2 The Grave” was done in his memory thus becoming a passion project for HFP. It was important for Lynne to make a movie that didn’t preach but instead told a story that plays out organically in front of the viewer and reflects on the paths taken by the communities on both sides of the bridge.

Lynne acknowledges her first feature was a test every step of the way but it was her faith that kept her going, “Your first film is a challenge on every level, emotionally and physically, it’s a part of you.” Lynne continued, “When it’s finally complete you put it out there and pray your vision resonates. It’s a journey. My faith keeps me strong. My resilience may falter at times, but never my faith.”

“Sons 2 The Grave” is currently screening on most streaming services. Check out the trailer below!
